Biography

Nikola Banković was born in 1978 in Kragujevac where he finished primary and grammar school. In 1997 he enrolled in The Faculty of Architecture in Belgrade, and graduated in 2003 under the supervision of Prof. Srboljub Rogan. Interior Design is the study programme he opted for in the final years of studies. In the course of studies he gained hands-on experience on two occasions in the Horst Karl Studio, Darmstadt, Federal Republic of Germany.
In 2008 he passed national licencing exam, in 2011 he received engineer’s licence.
From 2004 until 2011 he worked as an Associate Architect on interior design projects, 3D visualization, as well as on construction and urban planning projects and competitions. (2006 competition for Terazije Terrace / III prize; competition for Serbian Pavilion at 2010 EXPO Shangai / I prize)
In 2011 he founded KRATOR, the design studio, with the seat in Belgrade, providing design solutions for buildings, interiors, projects for adaptations nationally and internationally (Spain, Germany, Switzerland, …).The design studio KRATOR specializes in construction and interior design projects for individual housing, hospitality, hotel industry and commercial spaces.

Projects, signed by BSc Arch Nikola Bankovic, the founder of KRATOR studio, are characterized by individuality and distinctive application of old, classical building style and materials as well as of the modern ones that have found their way in construction and interiors only in recent years.

The photographs in the gallery witness the capacity to fulfill different tasks, and very specific and strict requirements of its clients. Dedication to an idea, concept, even to a slightest detail can be seen in every project delivered by KREATOR studio. Use of geometry, as the essence of architecture, is the trademark of KREATOR studio.
